Rudy Shocks San Fran

Rudy ran the San Francisco half. 13.1 miles. To me, that would be like riding my bike 150 miles.

They, too, are having a heat wave ( a tropical heat wave), so the temp was all the way into the 80s by the time she finished in a blazing 2:04. She looked comfortable and efficient the entire way, despite having to deal with some of San Francisco's notorious hills.

I rented a bike (a Giant OCR with a triple and cyclo-cross brake levers) and rode around the course, trying to be there enough without getting in the way or being a distraction.

Rudy throws the Tenzing salute.

This is early in the run, maybe mile 2. So serious...

This isn't the greatest of pictures, but I like it because you can see the smile on her face. This was taken at mile 10 or so, and the fact that she's able to smile at all is amazing to me.

Yeah, baby, yeah!!
